Completely misdiagnosed our dog and she was brain-dead the next morning. Will never use this Veterinarian again. Our dog apparently had a brain bleed and the Vet diagnosed her with ingesting Marijuana.

I cannot thank everyone at South Tampa Urgent Pet Care enough for all their help and kindness that they showed to me with my loss of dog. They showed the same love for her that I had and that speaks a lot. They gave her the best care when she was healthy as they did when she was sick. They have always been consistent and have gone above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot recommend them enough. I had the same vet for over 30 years in Sarasota. When I moved to Tampa 6 years ago, I had a great fear of not finding another vet that was as good and loving as the one I had. They have been just as good, if not better, than what I had. Thank you South Tampa Urgent Pet Care, much love to you all!!!

We had a terrible experience at Urgent Pet Care of South Tampa. Our Cat was having problems throwing up so we decided to take her to the closest place possible due to the fact that we did not live in the Tampa bay area.
Even though we were only one of two customers our wait time was considerably long. When we finally got back to the waiting room we waited another 20-30 mins. Our cat has always been fantastic at the Vet, very calm, very gentle, no problems at all. Then the urgent care technician came in ready to start the check up. It was terrible to say the least, the technician was so aggressive and violent with getting our cat out of her crate. She proceeded to drag her out buy her neck and pin her to the table. She then proceeded to take her temperature but had to hold the thermometer with one had and pin our cat with the other so she and looked at us and yelled at us sarcastically "are either of you two going to help me". simply ridiculous...
She then jammed the thermometer in our cat, not gently at all, she jammed it in.. our cat couldn't take the abuse much longer so she tried to bite the technician to get away. So the technician pinned our cat to the table for about 20 seconds just to get back at her, and then left saying the Dr. will be right in. Our cat has always loved going to the vet and meeting new people but this was definitely a terrifying experience for her. I cant believe I held my tongue for that long, but I was more concerned with the well being of my cat. The Dr. came in with the technician and "magically" the technician attitude changed around the Dr., and apologized for throwing our cat at one point.. The Dr. talked for about 5 mins about how they couldn't figure out what is wrong without $300 worth of tests then left. Now I dont mind paying $300 or even $900 as long as my cat is alright but I didnt trust this place at all and proceeded to go elsewhere for a better check up and analysis. This company seems money focused, very impersonal and very aggressive with the animals.. I will never take ANY of my pets here ever again.

I took my 10 month old puppy there because he was bleeding out of his rectum profusely. I went to see Dr. Tim Jones. I felt as if the sense of urgency wasn't there for my puppy considering he's only a 5 lb. Morkie. We had to do x-rays, fecal test, and blood work. For the x-ray records, Dr. Jones didn't seem comfortable in explaining in the sense of not knowing 100% what he was talking about. As he was explaining my puppy's condition, he was attempting to say peristalsis but didn't know it. That's basic science that you learn in middle/high school. He also forgot my puppy's name while in front of me treating my puppy. For the lab work, he saw other patients before he saw mine when my puppy had to get surgery done right away. He made me wait for a lab work result that I can read on my own and understand it. He didn't say anything that was actually insightful. For the surgery, they don't make the time for you considering it's an urgent care. But what's the point of this center if you can't get things done or help animals that are in need due to life or death emergency? I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Based on reviews, we drove over an hour to this clinic for emergency treatment for our chihuahua. We were exceptionally pleased with our choice to do so. The entire staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Explanations were clear, concise, and all questions were answered professionally. We were not encouraged to add unnecessary tests or treatments. The price was reasonable and each person we encountered had a kind bedside manner. Go here.
